Hello, everyone! Welcome to Thursday Quotables! This weekly feature is hosted by Bookshelf Fantasies. Every week we highlight a great quote, line, or passage discovered during your reading each week.
Today I'll share you a few haikus from the book Lips Too Chilled (2014) by Matsuo Basho. They are all so simple and beautiful. I love them.
Have you read any haikus? Which one is your favourite?
These are all so eloquent, and like you said simple - love them!

They are pure beauty!
DeleteTalk about an efficient use of words. Haikus are interesting because they say a lot in a very small space. It goes to show that more isn't always better. Or rather:
ReplyDeleteEfficient words. Haikus say much in a small space. More isn't better.
Yes. I've always found it very difficult to create one, I admire those who can. How can you convey so many things with such simple words and in only three lines?
DeleteVery nice. I always love anything butterfly so I would have to say the first caught my eye!
ReplyDeleteI also like butterflies! They have such a nice shape and colours :)
DeleteOh wow, I haven't read real haikus in so many years. These are lovely.
ReplyDeleteAren't they? Although I like Japanese literature a lot, I hadn't read any actual haikus. So this book helped me fix that :)
DeleteGreat quotes! They're short but quite insightful, don't you think? :D x
ReplyDeleteThat's what I love about them :D
DeleteThose quotes are short but sweet, I love them! Especially the first one :) Nice one! x
